NORWESTERS SHINE AT LANGLEY INVITATIONAL Penning 1 t : G Louise Pennington continued to show her heels to the rest of the track and field world recently at the Langley Invitational track meet by capturing three firsts and three seconds in the two day meet. The young North Shore runner set a meet record in the triple jump, and picked up firsts in the 400 metres and Long Jump. The Juvenile aged athlete took silver in the 100 metre hurdles, 200 metres and high jump. Andrew Dawson also had a big day for the NorWest Club setting a record in the Juvenile triple jump = and winning the 400 metres. Also in Juvenile com- petition Mandy Grant had a third in 1500 metres while Anne Racholle Griffith had a pair of fourth place finishes in the 100 hurdies and high jump. Sue Pearmain also had two fourth place finishes in the 200 and 400 metres and Theresa Cividin finished sixth in the 1500 metres. In Midget competition Stephen MacCormack ied the NorWesters with a third in high jump and fifth in triple jump while Wendy Montgomery had a third in the 3000 metres Lisa Paris picked up a fourth in the 800 and sixth in the 400 while Sandra Cutts had a fifth place finish in the 1500 metres. Sarah Butterworth was a busy young lady in the bantam competition taking a second in the 400, a pair of thirds in the 100 and 200 and seventh in the 80 m hurdles. Steven Dong was second in long jump. third in 100 metres and fifth in the 200 while Richard Pennington was second in 80 m hurdles, and brought home a pair of fifth place finishes in long and high jumps. Kendra Thitchener’ was seventh in the 200 and cighth in the 100 metre finals Other Bantam finalists for the NorWesters were Robert Ponnington with a fifth in the 80 hurdles followed by Simon Marnow in sixth and abs three firsts Alex Ryan in eighth. The North Shore club had four finalists in the bantam 80 metre hurdics. Lisa Brent had a second in the PeeWee 100 to go along with her cighth in the 200 while Sara McGladdery had a fourth in high jump and seventh in 400 metres. Sigrid Otto grabbed a first in the 1500 and a fourth in the 800 while Lisa Valleau had a sixth place finish in the discus. Diana Osborn took a third in the Tykes 80 metre hurdles and a seventh in the 200 while Dylan Griffith had a fourth in high jump and sixth in shot.
