which provides significantly

the Caterpillar 3406 and the
Cummins NTC400.

A new. Detroit Diesel
Allison MT 654 five-speed

automatic transmission — is
available on heavy-duty
models. It offers weight

savings, improved reliability
and ease of handling for
highway applications.

For an improved driver
environment, an air
suspension driver’s seat is
standard in. all Astros,
Generals, Brigadiers and
8000 series models equipped
with air brakes.

Newest
General is a single rear axle
model designed to provide
lighter weight and greater
maneuverability in a shorter
wheelbase.

Another new feature of the
General and Brigadier lines is
a standard bumper with soft,
urethane end caps bolted to a
steel] center section. On
impact, the bumper ends
deflect and then return to
their original position to
provide increased damage
resistance for tires and
bumper.
