IT’S hard to decide
which would be more
exciting: naming a
brand-new, oceanside
community, or going on
a $5,000 shopping
spree at Park Royal
Shopping Centre.

You could do both.

Developer United
Properties is asking the public
to help it name a $100 million
waterfront community it is
building on the Sea to Sky
highway.

According to a press
release, company CEO Victor
Seton decided to take this
route for a number of reasons.

“ ... We were tum in our
own thinking between a historical name associ-

ated with the First Nations and carly explorers of

the area — like Oliver Furry after whom the
nearby Furry Creck is named —and a more
contemporary name capturing, the image and
lifestyle of the new community we're creating
here.”

Scton also said the impressive response the
company reccived earlier this year when it asked
the gublic for input about the project’s design
features and floor plans spurred executives to try
it again with the naming of the development.

And the inventive entrant whose name sug-
gestion is chosen for the development will not
only put their namc on the map, so to speak, but
will also win a $5,000 shopping spree in the
North Shore’s biggest shopping centre.

21,036 acre master-planned golf community set
in Howe Sound, minutes from West Vancouver
on the Sea to Sky highway.

@ Prospector Oliver Furry launched a mining
boom in the area in 1893.

@ Tanac opened the Furry Creek Golf and
Country Club in 1993.

The contest was launched last week.
Suggestions for the community's name are to be
dropped off in cither of the the entry boxes
located in the north and south malls at Park
Royal. Only one entry per person, and one per:
son per entry will be accepted. The deadline for
entries is Sept. 5 at 3:30 p.m.
