the Canadian Ski Instructors! Alliance (CSIA) joined
forces, creating a new organization called the
Canadian Association of Snowbuard Instructors
(CAST),

“We currently have 1,500 certified members and

Evidence that resort operators
are committed to meeting changing consumer demand
is the fact that inany ski areas are building snowboard
parks — terrain specifically graded and equipped with
half pipes and other “amusements” for practising
stunts on snowboards. ;

Seymour. Grouse and Cypress — will be featuring
improvements to their snowboard parks.

Equipment for snowboarding has also continued to
improve, with alpine-carving boards being one of the
latest developments in board design.

Snowboarding is no longer the counter culture of
