THIS PROMINENT house is
one of the few remaining her-
itage homes in the Norgate area
of North Vancouver. Located in
the District of North Vancouver,
south of Marine Drive, this
home is a good example of the

include the chamfered porch columns
and the decorative gable detailing.
Originally this house was part of a
small parcel of land which included
seven adjacent lots. The first owners,
William H., and Olive May Wilkins,
owned both the house and the seven
lots. In the City Directories, William

Wilkins’ occupation was listed as
dairyman.,

The Norgate area now predomi-
nantly consists of a pocket of ranch-
style post wartime homes built on
slabs of concrete. This residential
enclave south of 15th, was designed
by architect Norm Hullah with the
purpose of keeping the traffic to a
minimum. This he did with the use of

Edwardian Style of
Architecture.
