Pleasurable new scent introduced

Oscar’s ‘new scent...After the suc-
cess of Oscar de la Renta’s first
fragrance, called Oscar de la Ren-
ta, which is an award-winning
and best-selling perfume in 50
countries, it is no wonder that the
designer would be eager to in-
treduce his second scent, called
Volupte.

De ia Renta was in Vancouver
in April to promote the perfume,
which was inspired by a line in a
poem which he had read by
Baudelaire called L’invitation au
Voyage.

It reads (Gin French): ‘*Where
everything is order and beauty,
faxury, peace and pleasure.”’

Volupte is the word ‘‘pleasure’’
in French. The designer feels that
his new fragrance, Volupte, spells
Pleasure for ali of the senses at
once.

The perfume’s scent is a medley
of exotic florals, sparkling fruits
and rare woods, and is classified
as a floral oriental scent. Its top
notes freesia, osmanthus snd
mimosa flowers are combit.ed
with mandarin and melon. It also
contains jasmine, carnation, lily
of the valley, ylang ylang florals,
amber, .sandalwood, insence and
patchouli as a woodsy base.

The perfume is $98 for a 7-mL

bottle, the eau de toilette is $70
for 100 mL and the perfumed
body lotion is $48 for 200 mL.
The perfume is available at de-
signer perfume counters.

THE PERFUME Velupte is the latest fragance created by

Oscar de la Renta.

is an advanced new hair color
range which gives hair stylists a
full artist’s palette of translucent,
reflective colors which leave hair
healthy and vibrant.

It was produced and directed by
the North Shore’s Jon-Paul Holt
for Avantgarde and co-produced
with Raffco International Beauty.
it will be distributed nationally by
Joico Verocolor Canada.
