“Asan actor, it’s been hard to
play,” says the 26-year-old Leitch,
a bubbly dirty-blond-headed
woman who looks about 18.

5 Blood Alley, which opens Fri-
day (and previews tonight and
Thursday), is being billed as ‘tan
environmental exploration” of the
hictden obsessions that fie within
each of us.

It consists of five modules —
beginning in a law office and end-
ing in eternity — all of which take
place under the night sky of
Gastown’s Blood Alley, with the
audience following the actors

through doonways, tuonels and
narrow allovways.

Tamahnous’ creation began as

former West Vancouver actor,
with creators Jen Snelprave. Chick
Satpper and Jet Corness wanting

and communicating through
movement, dance, music and ins
agery rather than diatogue,

But they realized that both au-
dience and actors would need
something more to hang on ta. so
they added some ditlogue and
characters (none ot the Characters
dre named),

Needfess to say, more than usual
will be demanded of audience:
goers, And, aeedless to say, the
work is a risk for Tamahnous. But
Leitch is optimistic that Vancouver
audiences will respond favorably
to the work.

“Each person will come away
with their own feelings about what
it all means.” she savs.
