British Columbians to receive compensation
for his injuries during the month of October.

who is the victim of a
crime in B.C. may apply
for and receive compen-
sation, bring legal action

against those responsible
or do both.

Applicauon forms are
available at any office of
the Worker’s Compensa-
tion Board, which
oversees the program.

Money to pay compen-
sation — the total com-
pensation package for
October was almost
$25,000 -—- comes from
the consolidated revenue

fund of the province.

Upon compensation,
the WCB is entitled to sue
guilty parties, if they can
be identified, to recover
sums paid out.

The Board is also em-
powered to pay compen-
sation in cases where
there has been no crimi-
nal conviction of pro-
secution.
