Recycle materials for healthy soils

cellent way to reducé the solid
waste stream by up to one third.

Instead of sending your leaves
and yard waste off to the landfill
or incinerator this fall, make use
of this valuable resource and pro-
vide nutrients for your garden by
composting your leaves.

As you clean up your garden put
your. leaves and yard waste in a
compost | bin. Remove dead or
dying plants from flower beds and
vegetable gardens as soon as
possible. as they can be over-
wintering quarters for insects and
diseases. - ;
Next spring’ you will have an
earthy compost for your garden
and flowerbeds.

Economically, composting is a
much better-option than bagging
yard waste up and shipping it to
